Elementary Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to the TIS Elementary School!

On behalf of our amazing teachers and staff, I would like to welcome you to our Elementary School.  We are proud that our students and staff are international in both our make-up and our outlook.  Representing over 40 nationalities, we aspire for our students to be connected to each other, to our host country Uzbekistan, and to the wider world.

At TIS we seek to create a culture of inquiry.  We want students to be inspired to ask their own questions, not just answer the questions of others.  Students should then turn those questions into knowledge, and then use that knowledge to take action.  We are proud to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme that is inquiry driven, concept based and transdisciplinary.  We are led by our Approaches to Learning, which are a powerful set of skills that we cultivate in our students throughout the IB.

We have an expectation that our students do hard things and develop stamina and resilience to take on big challenges.  We want our students to approach school with enthusiasm and passion for learning and growth.  We know that learning should be FUN!
