Purpose Statement
The School Counseling Department is dedicated to advocating for all students and fostering a proactive and responsive school environment. Our trained counselors prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and work to support students’ academic, career, and social and emotional development. By recognizing and respecting individual differences, collaborating with the school community, and implementing current best practices, we strive to empower each student to reach their full potential and succeed in all stages of their life.
Emotional and Social Counseling (Elementary and Secondary)
The school counselor’s role is to provide social and emotional support to the students and families of TIS. This includes counseling sessions, parent meetings, advising teachers, and providing classroom presentations to address the emotional and social well-being of the students. Counselors handle a multitude of issues within the school community.
College Counseling
College counselors oversee programming to support, and guide students throughout the college admission process. We discuss the various options available to students, answer questions, and provide resources to help families make informed decisions. They maintain strong relationships with colleges and universities, keeping up-to-date with their admission requirements and policies worldwide.
