We Are Providing an Environment for Our Students to Grow & Excel
TIS is housed in a recently-remodeled facility on a 13-acre wooded campus with beautifully landscaped grounds. It is located only 10 minutes from the city center in a quiet, residential community. The school is a fully-enclosed campus with full-time security.
The campus offers large, landscaped and wooded recreation areas with park benches, basketball courts, a soccer field, a pond and gardens. There is also a separate playground for preschool students.
The main building and elementary building are handicapped accessible and feature large, climate-controlled classrooms. The main building also houses two spacious libraries, an auditorium, a theatre, four computer labs, and three science labs, all with wireless Internet access.

The elementary school at Tashkent International School uses curriculum specifically developed for international primary education. Adopted by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as their worldwide Primary Years Programme (PYP), the curriculum leads to the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 6 through 10 and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma for grades 11 and 12.
Students in grades 6-10 are at a critical stage of development as they are undergoing dramatic physical, personal, social and intellectual changes. They are also becoming more aware of the wider world around them. It is a time of questioning and challenging, which can be exciting, confusing and a bit frightening all at the same time. The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) aims to help students through this crucial time by fostering a sense of belonging and a positive attitude to learning. Learning how to learn, how to evaluate information and communicate their learning are important to the program.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a challenging, two-year, pre-university programme primarily aimed at students ages 16 to 19. The IB Diploma Programme leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities.
Parent Teacher Organization
The TIS's PTO is a parent-driven organization that enjoys the school's full support. Its main objective is for parents to engage with the school community and organize fun extra-curricular activities and social events for the children. They are actively involved in fundraising for the TIS Scholarship Fund. Learn more here.
After School Activities
TIS offers a wide range of co-curricular activities throughout the school year. The activities are divided into three terms, or trimesters – fall, winter and spring. Clubs are activities that run the whole year, such as student council and Greener Tomorrows. Activites and clubs are run by a variety of people including teachers, support staff and outside providers.
TIS Scholarship
Each year TIS awards up to three 100 percent scholarships to Uzbek nationals from local schools for admission to Grade 10. The offer of these scholarships is based on academic excellence, financial need, satisfactory ability in written and spoken English, attitude and personality, extracurricular activities and interests, and potential mutual benefit to the school and to the student.
Counseling
The school counselor’s role is to provide social and emotional support to the students and families of TIS. This includes counseling sessions, parent meetings, advising teachers, and providing classroom presentations to address the emotional and social well-being of the students. Counselors handle a multitude of issues within the school community. Below are just a few examples of what a counselor is able to address at TIS.
Athletics
The Athletics Program at TIS fosters the student-athlete's social, emotional, physical and moral development, along with promoting the IB Learner Profile. All participants are expected to display the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethics and respect. Participation in our Athletics program is a privilege and those who participate must represent the TIS community positively. Together, coaches, participants, parents and athletes are committed to being exemplary in all that we do!
