Elementary Athletics: Attendance
Team Expectations
Absences Impact experiences
Regular attendance is important for student-athletes to obtain maximum benefit from the educational program. Whenever a student must be absent, parents are expected to notify the school office of the reason for absence. Absences must be excused by the school in order for the students. Every effort will continue to be made to support the needs of students who miss school due to an illness, an emergency or a situation beyond the family’s control. Student-athletes are expected to contact teammates and coaches to check about team information. Please note that the school does not excuse absences due to extended holidays.
Lateness Impacts Team Learning
Almost all late arrivals are avoidable. Students are expected to be on time to school for every class and activities.
Excessive Lateness and Absence
When a student is excessively late or absent, the matter will be investigated by the Athletic Director and Activity coordinator and a parent meeting will be held. If a student accrues 6 or more absences per season, the school reserves the right to review the student’s situation and may recommend disciplinary procedures.
