About the School

School Description

Tashkent International School (TIS), an International Baccalaureate (IB) World school, is a not-for-profit, independent, co-educational day school governed by a board of directors elected from the parent community. Established in 1994, TIS serves the needs of an expanding international population, including children of expatriate business people and children from the diplomatic communities.

Campus Facilities

TIS is housed in a recently-remodeled facility on a 13-acre wooded campus with beautifully landscaped grounds. It is located only 10 minutes from the city center in a quiet, residential community. The school is a fully-enclosed campus with full-time security.

The campus offers large, landscaped and wooded recreation areas with park benches, basketball courts, a soccer field, a pond and gardens. There is also a separate playground for kindergarten and preschool students. A new Arts & Design Building is currently being constructed on campus and will be open for student use in August 2014. Plans are also underway for a new Elementary Building.

Indoors, the facility is handicapped accessible and features large, climate-controlled classrooms, two spacious libraries, an auditorium, a sports hall, four computer labs, and three science labs, all with wireless Internet access.

The Tashkent International Medical Clinic is also house on the campus with a separate entrance.
