The annual UN Day celebration at Tashkent International School on Saturday, October 25 was a wonderful day of fun, cultural activities and diversity at TIS.
The day began at 10 a.m. with the opening ceremony in the TIS gym. Outside the gym, local Uzbek musicians welcomed the crowds with traditional trumpets while inside, young Uzbek dancers started the program.
The ceremony continued with the Parade of Nations featuring more than 40 different nationalities as each group of students and parent crossed the stage in national dress and proudly displaying their flag. The event also included international performances from various cultural centers located in Tashkent.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to visit the country displays in the main classroom building, with more than 20 countries represented.
This year was the largest turn out of visitors for UN Day at TIS and the largest number of country participants.
