Elementary Principal Candidates Visit TIS

Tashkent International School is in the final stages of its elementary school principal search process. On Thursday, November 6 and Friday, November 7, the three finalist candidates will be on campus interviewing with the various stakeholder groups.

The candidates are:
• Jan Humpleby – United Nations International School of Hanoi – Hanoi, Vietnam
• Jon Davidson – Vientiane International School – Vientienne, Lao
• Tom Spence – Colegio Nueva Grande – Bogota, Columbia

In addition to touring the facilities and a chance to observe teachers in action, the candidates will have face-to-face interviews with all elementary faculty & staff, the elementary leadership team and the elementary student council. On Friday, interviews and meetings continue including interviews with members of the administrative support staff, the school board, the PTO/parents, and the school’s senior leadership team.

Parents are invited to attend the PTO questions-and-answer session on Friday, November 7 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the secondary library. Each candidate will have 25 minutes to talk with parents and answer questions.

The new elementary principal, once selected, will begin at TIS in summer 2015, just ahead of the new school year.
