The long-anticipated Art & Design Building at Tashkent International School is now a vibrant, exciting new addition to the TIS landscape.
The building was officially opened in a brief ceremony at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year. The two-story Art & Design Building is home to the design technology department, visual arts, as well as a variety of teacher offices.
On the first floor students can enjoy spacious work areas for their design projects and a full woodworking room complete with state-of-the-art power tools.
On the second floor and small third-story art studio annex, visual art students have a warm, welcoming space to paint, draw, sculpt and create with large windows offering an hourly shift in ample natural light.
A two-story open atrium on one end of the building provides an ideal location for art gallery installations, showcasing student and teacher work.
Parents and visitors to TIS are welcome to tour the new Art & Design Building when they are on campus. Don’t miss the back side of the building facing the campus wall, which features a welcoming, open veranda.
