Students from the new Middle Years Programme Design Technology class have created 15 free-standing metal fire pits from recycled washing machine drums and will have them available for order at UN Day on Saturday, October 26 as a fund raiser to support the TIS scholarship program.
The promotion is part of the new Secondary Student Service Council, which will also have an information table at UN Day.
The fire pits are lightweight, portable and an excellent addition to any courtyard or area where you want to entertain guests after hours or as the weather begins to get chilly. Because the fire pits sit above ground and are fully contained, they won’t burn or scorch the grass.
Please stop by the Student Service Council booth at the Craft Bazaar from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during UN Day to order a fire pit. Only 15 are available now but additional fire pits can be ordered for later delivery.
The TIS scholarship program assists up to 10 local students in grades 10 through 12 with tuition costs at TIS.
