Grade 5 Students Graduate to Secondary School

Tuesday morning, June 4, started a little differently for the Elementary School students.  Everyone gathered under the trees to say goodbye to the Grade 5 students who were ‘graduating’ from the elementary school and moving up to Grade 6.  Mr. Coffren and Ms. Moss, the grade 5 teachers, gave a short speech for each student, clearly showing how well they know each child.

The ceremony included what has now become a traditional guest appearance from the preschool students, as well as the grade 5 song with lyrics written by the students themselves and Ms. Natalya the music teacher.  After the presentation of the PYP certificates and the traditional Uzbek tubeteika hats, students, parents and teachers enjoyed a delicious brunch provided by parents.  We wish the former grade-5 students all the best in grade 6.
