The MYP Grade 10 students at Tashkent International School will celebrate the completion of their Personal Projects with an exhibition on Wednesday, April 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at TIS. A student’s personal project is the culminating work in the Middle Years Programme and is similar to the PYP Exhibition and the DP Extended Essay.
The Personal Project is a requirement of the MYP, which enables students to:
- show their ability to work independently
- learn new knowledge and skills
- work towards a personal goal
- show initiative
- create a unique and significant product on (and of) their own
The project took six months to complete in the student’s time – no class time was allocated for the project. During the process, each student kept a detailed Process Journal in which they reflected on all aspects of the process. In February, students began to formally document their project in a piece of writing called The Personal Project Report, and now it is time to celebrate their achievements.
It has been an interesting journey for most of our students and we hope that you will be able to join us to hear more about their products and the process.
The Personal Project Exhibition is open to the TIS community.
