The 6th, 7th and 8th graders at Tashkent International School celebrated March 14 by thinking about pi (3.14 = 3/14). They spent most of the morning in groups, working on activities that used pi, geometry, and other math ideas. The celebration culminated with a pi-reciting contest and pizza lunch. Eleven students shared their amazing memories in the contest. Ryunha Chang (grade 8) was the champ, by knowing 86 digits after 3. Behind her were Kyuyeon Park (grade 6) and Seongwoo Baik (grade 8).
Congratulations all middle schoolers and all math teachers for making Pi Day a fun, successful and educational experience.
