The students in second grade are looking for additional donations of lightweight, clean cardboard for their upcoming Build-it! class unit. The cardboard will be used to complete several construction projects that will help the children with their math and reasoning skills. One challenge involves building a bridge to span a 40 centimeter gap using only the lightweight cardboard and glue. The bridge must be stable enough to drive a model car across while also being aesthetically pleasing.
To support this challenge, and others, the second-grade students need a lot of lightweight cardboard, such as cereal or pasta boxes, paper towel rolls and rolls from toilet paper.
Please bring all cardboard donations to the second grade classrooms, 101 and 102, by Friday, Nov. 16. Photos of Build-it! will be taken and posted on the web.
